Oh my I just re-read Ellyce's statement. I had to respond again. I hope most are intelligent to read her following quote and see the writer is sadly disturbed. "I KNOW for a fact that MOST JW’s actively pray for the destruction of MOST worldly people. If you really think about it, its a warped, awful and sick mentality. “Oh boy I can’t wait for the vast majority of people on this planet to die by God’s hand because they don’t believe what I believe!! Yay!” I mean, seriously. SURE Ellyse You know exactly for a fact what anyone says in their personal prayer! And for the record, you don't even need to "really think about it" to immediately say its a warped, awful and sick mentality. You did need to think about it so maybe its your warped mentality. Like I mentioned before, you may have spoke that way, but its really offensive & I hope you stop spreading lies about my family & friends and beautiful people who would never hurt anyone. Speak for yourself, not for others, especially stating how people think & pray. I mean seriously

Tara is correct, i dont know or make a call on if I myself will survive. So I for sure do not say who else may or may not. None of us know, God will rule

@Ellyce - People in general can be judgmental, rude etc... But Ellyce you are so obviously off. Maybe you made comments like that leaving a door, possibly with people to stunned or timid to respond (u thinking they were going along w/ the sick comment) Who knows your the reasoning behind your ridicules comment. I do know that I have NEVER heard of or seen any such behavior. With an entire family of JW's for 30 years, then doing my own thing for 8 years, then back again... I have been around both believers of Jehovah & other organizations & religions I studied & I can whole~heartedly say that the JWs have been the warmest, sweetest most loving people, even when I was exploring all around me. It is incomprehensible that anyone would talk like that, let alone people who are devoting their time to help others learn what the bible truly teaches with no expectations or return, they do it from their hearts.

Religion should make you sad. Anything that is almost completely a lie is very sadding indeed. I listened to an academic "agnostic" on a radio talk show who was convinced that God didn't exist because there were starving children on the Earth. I wanted to ask him what he would say to a starving child he met who asked him for food, but I couldn't. I always wondered if he would feel any debt to the child at all, or if he would simply congratulate the child as further proof of God's vacuousness. "Sorry, kiddo, I'd like to give you some of my Quarter-Pounder with Cheese and Super-Sized fries but, y'know, God doesn't exist. Better luck next time." But most of all, I would like to know exactly whose free will he would sacrifice to keep the child well fed? Tara is correct: We just do our part to help. Outside of that, what can be accomplished?

As a former Jehovah's Witness (20 years) and as someone who auxiliary pioneered several months every year for half the time I was involved in that organization, I KNOW for a fact that MOST JW's actively pray for the destruction of MOST worldly people. And sorry, but say if it is real and Armaggedon is a coming, I would rather die in Armageddon than be stuck living forever with a bunch of bigoted, uneducated (we know how the WTS feels about college!), misogynistic people. While walking away from a door after being dismissed by a 'not interested' person, we would JOKE about how they were going to regret not listening to us someday. "Haha, have fun when Armageddon comes." I used to say things like that! I'm ashamed of the person I was when I was a JW. Sure not all JW's do that, but A LOT do. MOST do. Sure getting turned down door after door wears on ya, but to wish for someones death? I can relate to this article and I enjoyed reading it. Religion makes me sad as well. Particularly the JW religion. I'm now agnostic and know a peace that being a JW never gave me.

@Johnz – Johnz…they aren’t subhuman dude. Jesus died for all mankind. But we don’t think about it because we are not making the decision as to who dies, so we don’t need to think about it, it’s up to God. We just do our part to help.

Ok...that's really unfair. Most religions teach that you will be sent into an eternity of fire and pain if you're not good. And fyi NONE of us wan to see people die, that's why we go door to door. Also we don't believe that ONLY witnesses will survive.

"i have never wanted anyone to be destory or hurt in anyway." Yes, a lot of JWs are not actively thinking about the the horrific pain that will be visited upon their fellow human beings. They just don't think about it, but push it aside because "everyone has a choice to make" and these people that will be destroyed, simply made that wrong choice. They don't see it as callous indifference because those who have "made the wrong choices" are really subhuman and not worth worrying about.

i just had to read what u wrote, and its very sad to know u feel this way. i am a j.w. i have never wanted anyone to be destory or hurt in anyway. everyone has a choice to make in life. good or bad. i love people. i love being a j.w. it's sad u have printed some untruth about jehovah and his people.
