Although the author of the blog clearly has a bias against the religion, I think his main point is that forcing children to spend enormous amounts of time knocking on doors, witnessing, etc. and not allowing them to create friendships with children outside the faith, developing talents and interests. I can see his point, which is that whatever it is that is forced upon children (demands from parents or religion or whatever else) that they do not choose themselves is unhealthy. Children can make choices for themselves. If they are taught the right way, they will make good choices for themselves. They will make mistakes as well, but this is a very important part of life.
Reply

I think that this blogger is not being clear or getting all his facts. I know many Jehovah's Witness who are honest, loyal people. I think that if Michal Jackson had stayed in the Jehovah's Witness religion he would have been more happier. This religion is not about being anti-social it is about worshipping God and finding out what it is that God expects of us. Jehovah's Witness youths are not damaged from being in this religion in fact it makes them better and more productive youths. Many peopel find comfort in this religon because it offers the truth. Jehovah's Witness teach the truth of the bible they offer hope to people by showing them that this life is not the life that God intented for his creatures, there is a better life that awaits us. I just wanted to clear up that Jehovah's Witness are NOT anit-social they are people who are devoted to their creator and devoted to serving him fatihfully and loyally. Youths are not damaged because of this religion many times they are improved and helped to make a change in their life for the better.
Reply

Michael blamed his father's abuse for his problems and it's obvious the blogger is grasping at straws when blaming this religion. Child abuse is very damaging and other articles state that his mother and this religion helped keep him sane when his father may have totally destroyed him.
Reply
